West Edmonton Mall, World Water Park

The first plunge into indoor water parks

Client Triple Five Worldwide Corporation LLC

At a time when malls were strictly about shopping, Canada’s West Edmonton Mall had a daring vision that would change everything. Our client wanted to add large-scale entertainment to the retail experience – and what they got made history. FORREC masterminded a colossal almost five-acre attraction that was, for many years, the world’s largest indoor water park and wave pool.

World-renowned as a game-changing project, West Edmonton Mall, World Water Park integrates entertainment, retail and hospitality into one complete environment. The project opened to rave reviews and set the standard for a whole new kind of retail adventure. The mall remains the largest in North America today, attracting an average 30 million visitors a year, and putting Edmonton – and FORREC – on the map.
