When Mall of America’s existing generic park saw dwindling attendance, the wheels were put in motion to create the first large-scale, stand-alone, knock-your-socks-off extension of the Nickelodeon brand. Not only did FORREC succeed in creating a spectacular expression of the brand that broadened appeal to the teen market, we managed to keep the existing park in operation while we did it.
Integral to the master plan for Nickelodeon Universe was a series of phased improvements, which resulted in several new attractions over the years, including the SlimeStage and TMT Shell Shock. FORREC’s relationship with Nickelodeon goes back 1994 and our ability to translate this formidable brand into immersive attractions has led to many successful Nickelodeon projects around the world, including designs for theme park zones in Blackpool, UK and Madrid, Spain.
