Ganjiang Cultural Village

A dramatic event; an exhilarating destination

Client Greenland Group

The site includes two hotels, a conference centre, commercial development and a water park and snow park. Separated by an urban landscape waterway, the site was united by FORREC’s master plan into one cohesive destination that tells a powerful story.

Volatile forces at the centre of the earth explode up and collide with a vast ocean creating an epic event at Ganjiang that exposes a fossil layer, green transformation and exuberant present. Nature’s most dramatic shapes and colours are used to bring this imagined event to life in the structures and attractions that form the cultural village and tourism resort. The indoor water park creates a stimulating visual experience using the super-saturated colours of pop art. A nautical vortex and magnificently over-sized flora transform the outdoor water park. Jagged shards of ice, massive icebergs and neon-blue ice caves crystallize the polar theme in the snow park.
