Gyeongju World Resort

FORREC was inspired by Korea’s love of winter and snow to create an alpine village that gave them the experience of having all four seasons through the year. With a focus on the winter experience, we designed attractions such as downhill racing, quaint shops and luxurious après ski accommodation, all with the capability to change over to all-season operations.

Inspired by the some of the world’s most famous ski resorts, the spectacular lakeside hotel is themed with majestic stone and wood architecture for that authentic alpine feel. Buildings and landscape elements in the village have a permanent dusting of ‘snow’ on the highest points, with the other seasons expressed in window boxes and ground-level plantings.
