Forrec was the design lead in a competition winning design for a series of prototype Tourist Welcome Service Centers, located along Ontario’s major 400 series highways. The design of these new facilities ranged from 12,000 sq. ft to 24,000 sq. ft. and was inspired by an architectural interpretation of the various unique geographic regions of the province. Several different prototypes were developed, each being regionally expressive and evocative of place in order to promote Ontario tourism.
