In 1999, the city of North Bay assumed ownership of 40 acres of former railway lands along its waterfront. As a first stage in developing this valuable tract, Forrec was commissioned to plan and design a five-acre recreational site. The proposal includes railway exhibits and multi-purpose activity areas, with a historic railway station that contains two "black box" shows based on the area's local cultural heritage. The programme includes an interactive exhibit area, local museum, performance stage and associated food and retail.
